Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team at our reputable construction company. As a Quantity Surveyor, your main responsibility will be to manage the commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are executed within budget and on time. You will play a crucial role in valuations, variations, cost control, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit valuations with up-to-date variations.
Price and negotiate client variations.
Complete monthly costs to completes and WIP's/CVR's (Work in Progress/Cost Value Reconciliation).
Monitor and control plant, materials, labor, and preliminary usage against budget.
Update and monitor cash flows and turnover forecasts.
Administer sub-contract payments, including wages and variations.
Procure sub-contract packages and manage their contracts and variations.
Attend internal and external meetings as required.
Conduct stock takes.
Assist in estimating when pricing new projects.
Build and maintain good client and sub-contractor relationships.
Promote responsibility for health, safety, and welfare among staff.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Proficient in preparing tenders, bills of quantities, and contract documents.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, processes, and practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software and tools.
  • Full-time availability with the flexibility to visit various construction sites across London.
